Who Watches CSI:Miami Anyway?

I don’t get it. Studio 60 gets its ass kicked by CSI: Miami in the ratings. I know I’m a TV Snob and I’m not going to apologize for it but come on America. What’s worse is it also did worse than Deal or No Deal. I don’t get it.

An average of 13.4 million total viewers tuned in at 10 p.m. for Sorkin’s $6-million pilot, starring Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford as two intemperate writers who take over a struggling comedy-variety show à la “Saturday Night Live.” That was well ahead of ABC’s reality show “Supernanny” (7 million) but a distant No. 2 behind CBS’ fifth-season premiere of “CSI: Miami” (17.2 million), according to early data from Nielsen Media Research.

    Well, M-CSI ended last season with a major problem that required resolution in episode 1, Horatio’s wife was offed by the bad guy….

    It doesn’t bode well that it lost viewers as the show went on — it was a bit of an awkward start perhaps that was enough to lose some people who didn’t realize that it was mostly a setup episode.
