Congratulations to what is my favourite TV viewing experience. In its special Monday time period, the ratings went up significantly not only improving on its Tuesday viewership but improving on the Studio 60 numbers which normally airs Monday at 10. If I had to choose between the two now, there’s no competition. Friday Night Lights would win hands down.
Here’s what’s great about the show – the show taps every emotion in every episode. There are heartbreaking moments like the scene where the coach turned down Saracen in favour of the proven Voodoo or where Tyra is discarded again. There are heartwarming moments like the final scene where Saracen comes in and wins the game for the Panthers and the team comes to visit Jason in the hospital. There were uplifting moments like Jason’s recognition that he has still can have hope. There’s humor in the relationship between the coach and his wife. Finally, there is drama like the Tim and Lyla relationship and the closing scene where the team is going to be investigating for putting Voodoo on the team.
I’m going to repeat what I’ve said in my earlier reviews. It’s the best of the best on television. If you aren’t watching this show, start now. As Stan Lee says “Nuff Said”.
