I haven’t written much about Battlestar Galactica but don’t take that to mean I’m not a fan. The problem is that I kind of like watching in large episode blocks rather than week to week. I watched season 1, 2, 2.5 and most of 3 over a very short period and I have a backlog of the last 3 episodes waiting for me.
If you haven’t been watching, go to the video store and rent them all now or even buy them. You won’t be sorry. Far more than a genre sci-fi show but up there with the best of what’s on right now.
Anyway, TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello has reported that the show is being renewed for a fourth season for 13 episodes. It’s not confirmed yet but he says the announcement is imminent. There was a bit of a question mark whether this would happen with the show’s lower ratings this season but my guess is that the DVD sales of this show, which will endure for years after the final episode airs, will be enough to make the economics work for another season or two.
Even so, it’s a relief to hear it become almost official.
